Summer Farm Camp Gathering - Maine

Do you run summer camp on your farm? Join other farm camp educators and operators for an in-person learning experience! Visit Wolfe's Neck Center and Liberation Farms on Friday morning, then come to Wolfe's Neck for workshops, meals and conversation.
Build your community of camp people, share favorite crafts and activities, learn about others’ policies and procedures, reimagine staff training, get feedback on challenging conversations…and more! Whether you’re just starting out or have been running a farm camp for years, you’re welcome at this program.
What: Gathering for farm summer camp operators
Topics covered: Loosely facilitated peer-led conversations on several topics (including but not limited to):
Building a successful counselor in training program
Camp policies, procedures, handbooks
Camp staff: hiring, training, feedback, preventing burnout
Financial accessibility in farm programming
Favorite farm crafts and other make and take activities & field games
Intergenerational mentorship on educational farms
Marketing and outreach tools for recruiting campers & tips and tools for building camp community
School field trips: outreach to schools, designing the trips, and knowing if you're successful
Strategies for supporting neurodivergent learners
Teenagers! Strategies for teens engaged with the farm
When: November 13 - 14, 2025
Cost: Free to attend. Travel and lodging not included.
Registration: Open now until 11/6 or until filled (capacity is 50)
Where: Wolfe’s Neck Center for Environment and Agriculture in Freeport, ME with a site visit Friday to Liberation Farms, Wells, ME (transport yourself)
