Through a series of presentations and experiential exercises, participants will have an understanding of the experiential model within the context of the farm. Because we teach who we are, we will touch on the power of modeling values that we strive to impart, and will focus on ways to facilitate student experiences where they can take ownership. Vision and hopes for the fast-growing movement of farm-based education?
Connecting more people with the earth, their food, themselves and one another. Getting more people OUTSIDE and in tune with the cycles of the natural world.
What is your favorite childhood farm or garden memory?
Vague memories of growing tomatoes with my Mom. Many many more memories of playing outside with my brothers and sisters in "the woods", two or three big pine trees that grew between our house and our neighbor's. we built forts, went camping, rode bikes...we spent A LOT of time outside and that connection to the earth is what has drawn me to farming, and compels me to share this connection with others.
