The Farm-Based Education Network

Inspire-Nurture-Promote

FBEA Website

As they say, "There is no wrong way to join a social network."  This site is a bit like a social network, just like Facebook. Obviously, our focus is very specific and revolves around farm-based education.

One of the primary goals of this network is to connect farm-based educators to share information and resources.  There is a VERY good chance that someone else in this community has solved a problem you are struggling with or is doing something really well and can share their model - be it summer camp pricing, farm safety for your visitors, farm-to-school implementation, etc.  Sharing information via a website allows the rich content to be archived and shared.

Here are some tips with LINKS (in green) to get you started on the site:

SIGN UP AND JOIN THE WEBSITE
Joining the site ensures that you will receive our quarterly newsletter and allows you to post jobs, submit inquiries to the listserv, and share/comment on the materials and resources in the Library.  See below for information about personal privacy and e-mail/notification settings.

To select the daily digest option:

What is farm-based education?

Farm-based education is a form of experiential, interdisciplinary education that connects people to the environment, their community, and the role of agriculture in our lives.

Farm-based education promotes land stewardship, the value of meaningful work, and supports the local food systems that sustain us.

What is the Farm-Based Education Association?

Today, the FBEA remains a collaboration of farm based education organizations.   A working group of organizational members provide leadership for the outreach and program activities of FBEA. Shelburne Farms remains the Fiscal Sponsor contributing administrative, program development, and fundraising support to the project.

Have other questions about how to use this network?

Please add your comments below and an administrator of the network will respond.

If you have a question for the farm-based education community, the Library or Listserv are the places to start.
