Paid Internship at Manhattan Country School Farm

The Farm-Based Education Internship is a one- or two-semester internship at the Manhattan Country School's award-winning sustainable farm in the Catskills Mountains.  The Farm-Based Educational Intern works with students, ages 8-14, who raise and prepare their own food, learn to make cloth from the Farm's wool, and explore the natural world around the Farm.  They also confront regional food and energy issues while learning to live together interdependently.

The Intern works alongside visiting classroom teachers from many different schools as well as the Manhattan Country School to provide evening activities and to supservise students overnight.  The Intern also has some residential duties in exchange for room, some board, and a stipend of $1000 per month.

Requirements for the internship include an interest in working with children and a valid driver's license.  Preference will be given to applicants who have worked in the field of education, farm-based education, environmental education or agriculture, or who have college or graduate credits in those fields.
