Garden Educator- Common Threads Farm and School Garden Collective
The Garden Educator provides leadership and support to school gardens in Bellingham and throughout Whatcom County. Duties include overseeing and supporting initial garden creation; coordinating with teachers and parents to schedule, plan for, and deliver class activities in the garden; crop planning and tracking; overseeing the work of garden volunteers; providing communication about activities in the garden to the greater school community.
Garden Educators report to and are employed by Common Threads Farm. Employment is part-time and seasonal. $12.50/hr. Successful applicants will have excellent teaching, gardening, and group management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team is critical. Personal means of transportation (bike, car, or bus) is required.
