Environmental Educator and Program Manager

Common Ground

The Environmental Education Program Manager will design, implement, administer, teach and evaluate Environmental Education programs at Common Ground, including:

• An academically challenging after-school environmental science and leadership program for middle school students.  In addition to helping design the middle-school program curriculum, devise activities to develop youth as environmental leaders and build enthusiasm for and knowledge of the natural world, the successful applicant will co-teach the after school sessions up to 3 days per week with an assistant teacher and high school aged youth interns.
• A School Field Trip program that is linked to the science curriculum of the New Haven Public School System. In addition to helping design the Field Trip program curriculum and plan appropriate activities, the successful candidate will supervise as many as 5 school field trips per week during the school year. 
  
• The EE Program Manager will also develop and implement a recruiting strategy for EE Program participants, manage program publicity,  supervise staff working on the programs, and evaluate program outcomes.
