Burlington Farm to School: Where Lunch is the Curriculum! - FT2
Join us on a trip to Burlington! We’ll be visiting several schools and local partners who have helped make the school district into a national leader in farm to school and sustainability. First, we’ll visit the Intervale and the local farms that provide fresh produce to the nine schools. Then we’ll stop at Healthy City Youth Farm run by Friends of Burlington Gardens and located at Hunt Middle School. There we’ll meet and chat with youth in the Healthy City program and Director of Food Service Doug Davis while we enjoy school lunch. Our fi nal visit will be to the Sustainability Academy at Lawrence Barnes, the country’s fi rst sustainability-themed elementary magnet school, where we’ll learn about how lunch becomes the curriculum.
